How to attach the leader to your fly line
At the end of every fly line, we attach a leader which is used to tie on the fly. The leader is tapered and helps the fly to land accurately and delicately. Every angler must attach some type of leader to the end of their line. There are various methods for doing so. You will want to choose a technique that does not involve cutting and tying your fly line every time you need to change your leader. The most common method is to use a loop to loop connection. Many of today's fly lines come with a loop at the end from the factory. You will then need to put a loop in the end of the leader. I recommend the perfection loop.
With a loop in the end of both the leader and the fly line, the two can be joined quickly and easily. New leaders can be added without any additional cutting or tying.
